Jupiter and the Bee

Translation:

In days of yore a bee that had stored her combs with a good harvest flew up to heaven to present some of her honey to Jupiter. Pleased with the gift he promised to give her what she should ask."Oh, Juve, maker of me, a poor bee, give me a sting that when anyone comes near my hive to take the honey, I may kill him." Out of love to man Jupiter replied: "Your prayer shall not be granted in the way you ask by the sting you shall have; and when anyone comes and you attack him the wound shall be fatal not to him but to you, for your life shall go with your sting."
